Catesby Viaduct sweeps majestically over this most rural part of Northamptonshire. Its namesake, Catesby House, home to one of the nefarious Gunpowder Plotters, stands nearby, its 19th century owners insisted on the construction of Catesby Tunnel, so that their view would not be spoilt by smoke belching steam trains. It is a most delightful experience to visit here at dusk in early spring.
